Spring Wardrobe Essentials

Updated: Jun 10, 2018

Hello Spring!

Finally we can shed the layers and layers of clothes and keep off our boots. It is time for floral everything and sandals. I absolutely love dressing for spring and summer, partly because I hate being cold, but mostly because I love all that you get to wear during these two seasons. Who doesn't love a floral spring dress or a pair of sandals to slip on (don't forget the pedicures). It is time to put those winter dreary clothes up and pull the bright and colorful, but occasional black clothes out.

There are so many things I love wearing for spring, but here are some essentials that (I think) you need to have in your closet this year.

Floral dresses

My all time favorite thing to wear during the spring is a floral dress. I love being able to throw it on and not have to wear about picking out an entire outfit. Plus, I love floral. Half of my closet is filled with different floral patterns. Here are some great floral dresses that you could add to your spring wardrobe this year.

Rompers

Rompers, are a close second to floral dresses because you just throw it on and go. I know, some of you disagree with me on this. I have heard all the excuses about why people don't like rompers, "My torso is too long" or "I look awkward in them", but everyone can find one that fits them perfect. Try son and add to your wardrobe this season.

Two-piece sets

OH MY GOODNESS. These are definitely my newest obsession. I have been searching for more to add to my wardrobe, especially for the summer. These are a little more difficult (in my opinion) to find one that looks and feels good. You can get the set with a skirt, shorts, maxi skirt, or pants (all so cute). Look around and take a chance on a two-piece set this spring and summer, you may be surprised.

Shorts

This goes without saying. We all need a few good pairs of shorts for spring and summer. I have plenty of shorts, both jean and...printed (floral for me of course). You can easily dress these up or down. This spring I bought several pair of jeans from Savers and will cut them into cute high-waisted shorts. You cannot make it through these seasons without a good pair (or dozen) of shorts.

Tank tops

Ah..finally. Get to tan our arms instead of covering them with layers of clothes. Tank tops are perfect when you just want to throw something on and head out. I have more tanks than I have room for. Bright colors, floral prints, and even stripes (working on wearing more stripes).

Blouses

For when you want to dress up a little more, but don't feel like shaving your legs (no shame). Throw on a blouse and a pair of jeans. Front tuck the blouse into your jeans for a more fitting, put together look.

Sandals

Personally, I am not much of a flip flop lover. May be from all the times I have broken them and been stranded without a shoe (thanks Old Navy flip flops). I do, however, love sandals. I have every color you could ever want (neutrals that is). Get a good black, tan, and brown pair and add as you find others you like. Disclaimer: you will end up with 10 pairs of sandals that are all "tan", but that's okay.

Wedges

I don't wear wedges as often as I do sandals and block heels, but I do love a good wedge. I have a pair of black and brown wedges, but for the most part I only wear tan ones. I feel like tan always goes best with my floral prints and just looks more spring appropriate.

(Block) Heels

I rarely wear "heels" in the summer, but I am constantly reaching for my block heels. They are short and comfortable but still really cute. Tan, black , or any fun colors would be perfect for spring and summer.

Happy spring shopping!

xoxo,
