Be with someone who

"Love is not about how long we can wait for someone, but about how well we understand why we are waiting."

Too often we find ourselves settling for someone because we don't want to be alone. We date the first person who shows interest in us. That guy that gives us some attention and maybe a few compliments. I love compliments as much as the next girl, but that doesn't mean you have to be with them.

Let me give you, and myself, some advice.

Wait. 

Wait for that someone who makes it all worth it.

Be with someone who makes you appreciate life. Someone who makes you feel lucky to be you.

Be with someone who loves you well, not someone who loves you at their convenience.

Be with someone who sees your worth and values who you are, not someone who puts you down and belittles you.

Be with someone who appreciates all that you are, not bits and pieces.

Be with someone who values your opinion and listens, not someone with a closed mind and ears.

Be with someone who knows all of you, and still loves you.

Be with someone who makes you laugh, not someone who makes you cry, unless it's because you're laughing so hard.

Be with someone who brings out the best in you, not someone who brings you stress.

Be with someone who brings you closer to God, not pulls you away. 

Be with someone who celebrates your victories and consoles you in your defeats.

Be with someone who makes it easy to feel grateful. For everything.

Be with someone who you don't have to hide from, not in any way.

Be with someone who is proud to have you, and proud to show you off.

Be with someone who understands how rare your love is, not someone who frequently takes your love for granted.

Be with someone that serves you. And someone you want to serve, without reward.

Be with someone who appreciates how you think, whether that be the way they think or not.

Be with someone who supports and uplifts you in regards to your goals, not someone who puts you down and doubts your abilities.

Be with someone who is honest with you. You cannot love someone you can't trust.

Be with someone who thanks God for you, not someone who takes you for granted.

Be with someone who is proud of your accomplishments. Someone who celebrates all the hard work you have done.

Be with someone who gives you the same feeling of when you see your food coming at a restaurant. You know that feeling, at least you should.

Be with someone who is patient, forgiving, and kind. Someone who is humble, selfless, and compassionate.

Be with someone who you miss the moment they walk out the door, not someone who you can go days without seeing.

Be with someone who makes your heart race, every time they look at you.

Be with someone who makes you a better person, as well as someone who you make a better person.

Be with someone who makes you feel at home and safe, not uncomfortable and on edge.

Be with someone who knows what they have when they have you, not someone who realizes it after you're gone.

Be with someone you can see yourself growing old with, and love every wrinkle.

Be with someone who treats you like a destination, not a stop along the way.

Be with someone who you can tell your whole life to. That person is worth spending a life with, and a little extra time waiting for.

 So when you're thinking about settling, don't. Remember what you deserve and wait for that person. In the mean time, be that someone that you would want to be with. After all, you have to be the person that they deserve as well.
