Today there are endless options for stationery for your wedding! While this gives you plenty of opportunity for creativity, it can be a little daunting! Relax, let me walk you through my experience with picking out the best stationery!
DON'T WAIT
The worst thing you can do is wait until the last minute to start looking at save the dates. There is a much bigger selection than you realize. I started looking at stationery a month before I wanted to send out our save the dates.
FIND YOUR STYLE
I wanted my stationery to match the theme and colors of my wedding, which really helped me narrow down my options. When you start, filter your search by style/theme and color. For inspiration, look at wedding blogs, magazines, and Pinterest of course.
KNOW YOUR NUMBERS
Before you order, you'll need to know how many save the dates you will need. This will help you avoid ordering more than you need and wasting money. Remember to count households instead of the number of guests. I recommend ordering about 20 extra. If you’re stuck between a few you love, cost might help you make your decision. More guests mean more money, so you might choose the more affordable option.
BASIC INVITE
I partnered with Basic Invite for my Save The Dates. I looked at several sites, but kept going back to Basic Invite because of it's customization and affordability. We wanted our save the date to display some of our favorite engagement photos and give a glimpse of what the wedding would be like.
Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews (super handy) online. Once you select the design you want, you can change the color of every element on the card. This allows you to customize the card to exactly what you want, down to the littlest detail. This was a must for me because I knew exactly what I wanted. This is what really set Basic Invite apart from other companies.
They also allow do custom samples so you can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before you ever have to place their final order. This is also why I recommend starting to look for stationery ahead of time.
Envelopes are great way to set your invite apart from the rest of your guests mail. Basic Invite is just as colorful with their envelopes as they are with their invitations. They have over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that you can make the invitation stand out even before it is opened.
Basic Invite has over 1000 wedding invitation sets. You can find everything from save the dates to wedding invitations and enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs and even matching thank you cards!
Another wonderful feature of Basic Invite is the free address collection service. All you have to do is share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. You also get to chose the font, color, and size. This is such a great feature and will save you so much time.
Basic Invite really made the experience easy! They have the best save the dates and I got to design exactly what I wanted.
Happy shopping and best of luck in planning your wedding!
